Deadline for Sadler Seminars 2019/20 proposals 7 May 2019
LAHRI is inviting proposals from colleagues in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Cultures to the Sadler Seminars programme 2019-20.
Sir Michael Sadler (1861-1943) was a Leeds Vice Chancellor famed for his open mind, adventuresome tastes and commitment to research, to the lasting benefit of the University’s art collection and much else. This scheme aims to support colleagues who wish to pursue innovative interdisciplinary research. Sadler Seminars will run for a year, based at the LHRI; they will feature ca. 2-5 seminar meetings per semester; and they will be linked with funding for workshops, project assistants/postdocs (where appropriate), outreach/impact activities and grant-writing support. View more information about the 2017/18 Sadler Seminars for an indication of the breadth of research supported by this funding scheme.
For the 2019/20 round, we especially encourage applications involving any of the following:
(a) Collaborations beyond the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures;
(b) A significant international dimension; especially where intended collaborations are with one of the following international universities: NTU Singapore; University of Auckland; Cape Town University; NWU-Xi'an; University of Copenhagen; Zheijiang University; University of Queensland;
(c) Brotherton Special Collections and/or any on-campus museums and galleries;
(d) External partners whom the applicants have not worked with previously
